COLLECTION OF GEOLOGY AND PALAEOTOLOGY
Collection of geology and palaeontology consists of prehistoric objects of the area around Brdovec and Marija Gorica. Ancient history of Brdovec area was first published in works by famous Dragutin Gorjanović Kramberger at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1912 he published an article about the sensational find in Marija Gorica, the teeth belonging to a prehistoric elephant (Deinotherium giganteum), the first such find in Croatia. In 2003 the Brdovec Museum organised an exhibition in collaboration with Geology and Palaeontology Department of the Croatian Natural history museum named „Hills of Marija Gorica“ and published a booklet of the same name, where the finds kept in the Brdovec Museum are described.
